After reviewing a Beijing-funded study claiming that up to 4,500 protestors could fit in the surrounding space of the proposed Chinese embassy in Tower Hamlets, the Metropolitan Police have dropped their objections, clearing the way for the UK government to approve the renovation of the old London Mint into a ‘super embassy’—ten times larger than the current facility and the biggest in Europe—despite securing no apparent concessions from the CCP, such as Jimmy Lai’s release or pension access for overseas Hong Kongers, while also sidestepping concerns that the site will serve as a hub for spies and secret police.
What do you think?

“Ten times bigger? Guess they need the space for all those future missing persons reports.”
“Lord Palmerston would have known how to deal with these wankers.”
“Maybe if the spies have more room in their embassy, they won’t need to take up all the tables at my favorite coffee shop to have their morning meeting.”
