Radio Free Asia contacted Jennifer Clay, a spokesperson for American apparel company Skechers to comment on their opening a new retail location in Xinjiang, a region of northwestern China where the ethnic majority Uyghur population is subject to human rights abuses by the Chinese government, but an assistant to Ms. Clay said she was traveling and “too busy to deal with that right now.”
