BEIJING (China Daily Show) – Speaking beneath a ‘big character’ poster displaying words such as ‘Freedom’ and ‘Democracy,’ local resident Xu Bing, 45, told reporters that the government’s latest campaign to promote harmony was “working for me.”

“I’d previously been having considerable doubts about the direction of our country,” Xu explained. “Thankfully, this large banner erected near my residence has firmly allayed most of these fears.”

Within days of the propaganda notice being posted in the center of Yangping Lu, her views were being echoed across the entire neighborhood.

“Ever since this group of outsiders from Anhui moved in, there’s been petty crime on the street,” pointed out shopkeeper Yang Chen. “Thankfully, the words ‘Rule of Law,’ written in bold red ink on a billboard, have restored order and justice.

“I think I speak for the whole neighborhood when I say that,” Yang added.
