The official newspaper of the People’s Liberation Army issued a warning about the rise of “humanoid robots” because their “normalised use could lead to indiscriminate killings and accidental deaths,” recommending “ethical and legal research,” while citing American science fiction writer Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics, noting that robots armed for warfare “clearly violate” the first of Asimov’s laws, which states that a robot “may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm”.
What do you think?
“It’s like it’s too much to ask for a militarised sex robot.”
“Just imagine ‘Made in China’ being the last thing you ever see.”
“We salute Asimov for his vision, and will be citing him extensively in future war crimes tribunals.”
