We Chinese: Chinese Paraglider Likely Used AI To Fake Video

A recent viral video from a Chinese paraglider, in which the aerial flyer claims he was sucked into the air unprepared and ascended to an allegedly record-setting 8,589 meters before safely returning to the ground, has been examined by experts and found to have been altered by AI, with visual inconsistencies present, including the man’s helmet changing colors and incongruous movements of his body, although the video was initially pushed by state-owned CCTV as being a remarkable tale of survival, while the Gansu Aeronautical Sports Association—of which the man was a member—has suspended him for six months.

What do you think?

“See? Just goes to show you can’t believe everything you see on CCTV.”

“A sad day for the Gansu Aeronautical Sports Association. A sad day, indeed.”

“Hey, it’s all good with me as long as he made cool movements with his hands when he described it to his buddies.”
