Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone raised eyebrows at the Beijing International Film Festival yesterday, after he urged Chinese filmmakers to confront controversial Mao Zedong’s controversial legacy, including the Cultural Revolution. What do you think?

Chinese people prefer films about killing Japanese soldiers, or rich women buying stilettos. You only have to look at the box-office to see that!

I’m sick of those Hollywood postcard movies, such as World Trade Center. We need someone brave, like Oliver Stone, to confront the controversial legacy of 9/11

Well, I read the transcripts from the festival and didn’t see anything about that, so obviously it never happened
