We Chinese: Fourth Plenum Begins In Beijing

Under heavy security in Beijing, the Chinese Communist Party has opened its fourth plenum, where Xi Jinping will deliver a work report to more than 350 senior officials and state enterprise executives as they draft the next five-year plan — outlining domestic infrastructure goals and strategies for China’s growing rivalry with the United States.

What do you think?

“Eh, I’m not sure I wanna go. It’s going to be hard for anybody to top the rager that Zhao Leji hosted last year in his hotel room, although Guo Ningning looks better than you’d think dressed only in a lampshade and swinging a bottle of Moutai.”

“I’m sure this new five-year plan will finally fix the last five-year plan that was still fixing the five-year plan before that.”

“Something must be wrong with my badge, because I couldn’t get past hotel security.”
