We Chinese: Beijing Warns Hong Kong Mourners Against Protesting

After the city’s deadliest fire in more than 75 years killed 146 residents of the Wang Fuk housing complex, national security authorities warned mourners against using the disaster to “plunge Hong Kong back into the chaos” of 2019, when pro-democracy protests rattled Beijing and challenged the political authority of local officials.

What do you think?

“I’m not crying. The guy who cut me off in traffic every morning commute lived in one of those buildings. Tai Po Road is mine to rule, once again.”

“Obviously the fire was set by counter-revolutionaries to justify their rebellion.”

“My team and I had such a horrible time trying to figure out how to monetize coverage of the protests for my youtube channel. We decided on a very tasteful set of Wang Fuk Memorial Earrings, which are now 44% off!”
